One Never Knows...

When the days of famine will strike.

Take a cue from these goldfinches that spent all day at my birdfeeder. Even if three's a crowd, feast on the thistle seeds while they are plentiful!

That's a pretty bird feeder! Goldfinches, cardinals - you do get some lovely birds :) All I get are blackbirds (which I suspect drive every other bird away).

I get a couple of ambitious grackles which usually empty the birdfeeder well before the cardinal even gets much of a chance to have a meal. I suspect the grackle wastes all the millet and dribbles it on the ground, where the pigeon and bluejays have a feast.

The robins are snooty and prefer their gourmet worms to the seed. They hang around solely for the bird bath, I think.
